Summary:
The Senior Project Administrator acts as project director and the primary expert for school facility maintenance and operations for the Division of K-12 public schools in the areas of facility issue consultations, maintenance site visits, special investigations, final construction inspections, statewide computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) training, and maintenance and operations documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Administrator is the Division’s primary source of contact with public school district representatives and other state agencies involved in the inspection and maintenance process for K-12 public schools.
The Senior Project Administrator is responsible for coordinating project flow with other Division staff to ensure the continuity of projects in support of the district’s facility maintenance and operations program.
The Senior Project Administrator will assist in the preparation or review of documents and reports regarding the school facility maintenance and operations for the Division, as well as detailed CMMS training materials.
The Senior Project Administrator will represent the Division at public meetings and maintain documentation and records of all encounters with public school districts and their representatives.
The Senior Project Administrator will be responsible for the State Mandated Inspection reports for School Districts and Charter Schools and supporting documentation, and for generating the final reports.
The Senior Project Administrator will be responsible for generating the required reports for the previous Fiscal Year for the Governor’s annual reports and supporting documentation.
The Senior Project Administrator will be responsible for school districts’ Petition of Waiver from the beginning to the final determination.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skill Levels Required:
• Applicant must have knowledge of maintenance, operations, and construction of public school facilities.
• Applicant should have CMMS training in all areas of the system provided by the State.
• Applicant must have working skills and be proficient in the CMMS system. Experience and ability to train users in CMMS in maintenance, preventative maintenance, entering and updating district information, state-mandated inspections, work orders, and others.
• Applicant must have working skills and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access office programs.
• Applicant must be willing to travel throughout the state.
The applicant should have the formal education equivalent of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, planning, construction management, facilities management, or architecture, plus four (4) years of experience in maintenance and construction project management; or sufficient overall experience in a related field.

Summary
The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) Academic Facilities Senior Project Administrator is responsible for acting as program director for construction projects, including coordinating and administering architectural and construction management activities for public school design, construction, and maintenance. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Functions
Conducts meetings with Arkansas public school districts to review progress of projects under construction and maintenance of completed projects. Coordinates communication and project progress between associated architect, construction manager and project owner (school district). Manages outside consultants on construction programs for assigned projects, which will include elementary, middle, and secondary schools. Provides oversight of the Division’s examination documents for energy and construction efficiency and conformance with the Arkansas School Design manual and all Arkansas Building codes. Monitors development of designs for school projects and develops and/or reviews and executes statewide programs, master plans, and policies for the Division of Public School Academic Facilities and Transportation (DPSAFT). Performs other duties as assigned.
