Attendees can look forward to a robust showcase of products and services from local and national vendors; more than two dozen timely and stimulating, AIA-accredited seminars; and great networking opportunities. The convention also includes AIA Arkansas’s Design & Chapter Awards, where the association honors projects and individuals who are transforming communities and shaping the way we live through excellence in design.

Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing education requirements differ per governing body. Below are the requirements for both AIA membership and Arkansas licensure.

AIA Membership

Both membership and continuing education requirements for AIA (national, state and local) are on a calendar year, January through December. AIA members are required to complete a total of 18 continuing education hours annually. Of those 18 hours, 12 hours must be health, safety, and welfare (HSW) education. The remaining 6 hours can be either HSW or general Learning Units (LU). The credit requirement for Sustainable Design (SD) is no longer in place.
(18 TOTAL, 12 HSW, 6 additional hours LU or HSW)
