Position: Project Architect
Established over 25 years ago, Gurrimatute is a full service architectural/interior design firm specialized in the design of aviation, educational, civic/federal, and healthcare projects. We are a boutique firm that does both very creative and highly technical projects.
Gurrimatute is seeking a Project Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate is a talented, highly motivated architect. This position will participate in the conceptual design and provide full support through the entire project. Communicate with Project Manager, other architects/architectural staff, and consultants. Develop and represents lead technical designer on projects. Coordinates with the Principals and Project Managers on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
Major Goals
- Develop quality designs and construction documents for permit.
- Be responsible and engaged in a project from conceptualization through project close-out.
Job Responsibilities
- Direct report to the Project Manager
- Prepare construction documents for permit using Revit
- Develop project zoning and building code calculations
- Assist to develop Life Safety calculations and drawings
- Lead in-house junior staff; prepare “Red-Lines” as required using Bluebeam
- Knowledge of the following Codes/Guidelines: Florida Building Code, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Uniform Facilities Criteria (UFC) & Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA)
- Coordinate with engineering subconsultants on each project
- Identify additional services needed by the client
- All other duties as assigned

- 5+ years (minimum) US work experience in architectural preparation of design and construction documents (Civic/Educational/Healthcare/DoD)
- DoD experience highly desired
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Education
- Bachelors of Architecture
Licensure
- Licensed Architect preferred, but not required
