Are you interested in representing AIA Arkansas at the national level? We are now accepting applications for two important leadership opportunities that connect our chapter with the American Institute of Architects’ national member groups.
These two-year volunteer positions provide an excellent opportunity to advocate for your peers, build leadership experience, and help shape the future of the profession.
Young Architect Representative (YAR)
The Young Architect Representative (YAR) serves as Arkansas’s representative to the Young Architects Forum (YAF), an AIA member group that advocates for and addresses issues important to architects within their first 10 years of licensure.
The YAR represents young architects at both the state and national levels while serving as the primary connection between AIA Arkansas and the national YAF Advisory Committee.
Eligibility: Any AIA Arkansas member who has been licensed for 10 years or less.
State Associate Representative (STAR)
The State Associate Representative (STAR) serves as Arkansas’s representative to the National Associates Committee (NAC), an AIA member group dedicated to representing and advocating for Associates, including Emerging Professionals and non-traditional practitioners.
The STAR represents AIA Associates within Arkansas and serves as the primary communication link between AIA Arkansas and the NAC Executive Board.
Eligibility: Any AIA Arkansas Associate member (a non-licensed individual employed in traditional and/or non-traditional practice settings).
If you’re passionate about advancing the profession, expanding your leadership experience, and representing Arkansas on the national stage, we encourage you to apply.
If you’re interested in either position, please complete the corresponding form linked above. If you have questions about either role, feel free to reach out.
