Set lightly on a narrow Ozark Plateau, the 1,850-square-foot residence preserves the site’s hardwood canopy, rock outcroppings, and natural drainage patterns. Organized around a breezeway inspired by regional dogtrot houses, the home uses passive solar orientation, cross ventilation, and restrained material choices to connect daily life with the surrounding landscape. Carefully framed views, filtered light, and compact planning create a robust architecture shaped by climate, topography, and place.
Project Statement
Set within an Ozark landscape near Eureka Springs, the compact residence reinterprets regional building traditions through a contemporary linear plan organized by an open-air breezeway and rooftop deck. The robust project balances environmental performance and site preservation with an architecture shaped by climate, landscape, and daily life.
