SUMMARY:Tornado Relief Volunteer Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe AIA Arkansas Associates/Emerging Professionals Committee is putting together a team of volunteers to assist in the ongoing clean up efforts from April’s tornadoes. Overall\, the number of volunteers has drastically diminished and there is still a lot of work to be done. The committee has been in contact with the Arkansas Dream Center to offer our help. \n  \nThe Arkansas Dream Center is a community development corporation that has stepped up to help organize disaster relief teams. Learn more about them by clicking the link above. New Life Church has allowed the Dream Center to use their facilities to organize volunteers for the relief effort.  \n  \nThe Dream Center has a team of volunteers that we’ll partner with this Saturday from 8:00AM to around noon. They have a plethora of work orders waiting to be filled. We will mostly be clearing limbs\, logs and debris. We will meet Saturday morning rain or shine between 8:00-8:30 at the New Life Church student building at 8000 Crystal Hill Road N. Little Rock\, AR 72118. It is a separate building North of the Main church. \n  \nWear long pants and boots. It will likely be hot so dress accordingly and drink plenty of water. If you have them\, please bring work gloves\, chainsaws and shovels. If anyone has heavy equipment like a backhoe or a bobcat please bring it. If you do plan to bring heavy equipment\, contact Brian Stell\, so they can plan for using it ahead of time.
