DESCRIPTION:Fiberglass Composite Windows in Multi-Family Housing\nBy Marvin Windows & Doors\, AIA Arkansas Blue Ribbon Partner\n1 LU|HSW\nThis course will focus on the use of fiberglass composite windows in multi-family housing\, with an emphasis on Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) housing. The Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and HUD have rigid standards for window construction and installation\, such as fiberglass cladding colors\, water-repellent millwork\, air leakage\, water penetration\, structural loading\, weather stripping and sealed insulating glass. This program addresses how to meet fenestration standards by using appropriate technologies. \nLearning Objectives: \n\nDescribe various types of multi-family housing\, including HUD housing\, and their place in the building industry.\nList FHA/HUD Standards for windows.\nDetermine how fiberglass composite windows help to meet these standards.\nCite case studies where fiberglass composite windows have effectively met standards.\n\nPlease RSVP by Monday\, June 16th to Jonathan Opitz\, AIA\, so we have an accurate head count and are able provide lunches for everyone.
