SUMMARY:Arkansas Historic Preservation Program is sponsoring a historic barn preservation workshop
DESCRIPTION:The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will host a free barn preservation workshop at the Cane Hill College at 14219 College Road in Cane Hill on Saturday\, October 7\, 2017. \nRudy R. Christian will present a lecture on “The Value of Stewardship” at 9 a.m. that will include information on documenting barns\, assessing their condition\, and\nproactive maintenance. \nFollowing lunch\, which will be provided\, participants will visit three historic barns where Christian will assess their needs and maintenance priorities. Two barns are in walking distance and the third is a two-mile drive away. Participants will need to take personal cars. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a chair or stool if needed. \nTo register for the workshop\, or for more information\, contact Holly Hope at (501) 324-9880\, write her at 1100 North Street\, Little Rock\, AR 72201 or send an e-mail message to her at holly.hope@arkansas.gov. \nAnyone planning to eat lunch should contact Hope by October 2.
