The two-story headquarters that houses the Arkansas Pharmacists Association includes offices, a sound studio, and indoor/ outdoor convention/ reception space. This building allows for hosting APA meetings such as legislative receptions, CE seminars, student receptions, and more. This project also creates opportunities for revenue generation through office rental and private social events, as well as acting as a touchdown space for APA members, students, legislators, and guests.
Project Statement
The original Arkansas Pharmacists Association headquarters was heavily damaged by a fire in June 2020. Rising from the ashes, the APA created the Phoenix Campaign to rebuild a newer, more modern headquarters that responded to current needs and formally addressed their advantageous location a few steps from the state capitol. APA sought to make a strategic investment in the pharmacy profession to support pharmacy practice advancement and grow education, training, visibility, and member-focused initiatives. RPPY’s design for the new headquarters allows the APA to grow and prepare for the future by allowing for the cultivation of relationships, the building of collaborative partnerships, and the strengthening of advocacy efforts. The formal language chosen by RPPY sought to distill and elevate the primary functions of the building and gives spatial relevance to the APA’s core organizational tenets.
